Looking for a local indie rock band to listen to on repeat? The perfect group for you might be King’s Prophet, a five-piece band from Irvine, California who just released the EP “No Strings” on Feb. 2, 2018.

King’s Prophet captures the true intent of alternative indie rock in their new album, which is to have fun listening to it,while inspiring others to create art of their own.

I have seen King’s Prophet perform live a few times now and they have always been an okay band. Their older songs are good but they never really caught my attention as much as these new songs did. They have really amped up their writing and playing styles, making me an even bigger fan.

“No Strings” consists of six original songs incorporating smooth synth sounds, catchy guitar riffs and melodies that will make you want to go out and live life to its fullest. Usually, when I hear new indie rock music, it makes me feel kind of lazy, like I just want to chill and relax at my house. King’s Prophet captures the true intent of alternative indie rock in their new album, which is to have fun listening to it,while inspiring others to create art of their own.

It’s different, it’s fresh and, best of all, it’s local, so if you want to see them live it’s not so difficult of an endeavor.

The best song on this EP has to be “Breathe” because it has everything I want from a band like this. It’s fun, upbeat and has a chorus that’ll make you want to tap your foot. The bridge has a nice drum break leading up to a sweet guitar solo, which helps the song wrap up in a great way. It makes me want to dance just listening to it. I’m not trying to diminish the other songs on the EP; it’s just that this song stands out from the rest.

After listening to this album multiple times, I have come to the conclusion that if you are a fan of alternative indie rock, this EP would fit very well on your playlist. It’s different, it’s fresh and, best of all, it’s local, so if you want to see them live it’s not so difficult of an endeavor. “No Strings” is available on all major music platforms such as Spotify, Amazon, Google Play, YouTube and iTunes.
